Juneteenth

In the Kansas State Capitol is a frame containing some of the votes from an early state constitution when they were deciding if Kansas should be a free state or not.

Girl Scout Notes

Girl Scouts across Kansas provided cookies and notes to legislators in the House of Representatives in May 2017. This was the one I received but I asked colleagues if I could photograph theirs too. Each one was different.

Sandy's Note

Jim Clark's wife, Sandy, received these pillow cases her grandmother embroidered. She was 11 years old at the time and wrote a thank you note. It's postmarked 1966.

Jim gave permission for this to be posted here. Two of my favorite things - the handwritten word and hand embroidery. Thank you, Jim!
