Roy Beckemeyer Field Journal from 1999

Writer Roy Beckemeyer shared these photos of pages from a 1999 field journal he kept while walking his yellow lab, Joe, every morning. The rough sketches and water colors were done in the field.

Roy is a man with many talents. He is a retired aeronautical engineer, studies dragonflies and other insects, Paleozoic fossil insects and the evolution of flight in nature. He is also a talented writer and a super, super nice guy!

I love his handwriting - artistic in its own way!

Notes from Robert Putnam Speech

Dr. Robert Putnam spoke in Hutchinson, Kansas, in 2005 at the Dillon Lecture Series. One of his quotes was, "Your life depends on social connection." These were my notes from the lecture. Read more about his visit at http://patsysponderings.com/?p=3066.
